Why we chose:

Fight From Above – Brought to us by Charles at IR:SoCal. If he likes it, we like it.

Tears in the Sahara – Flashy dressing will only get you so far in life. Music is important too. Then, when you combine flashy dressing with music, the end result is you can’t get into Canada. I figure they dress really bad up North, because the music I hear is really good. Down here in Florida we get the best of all worlds. Drew, thank you for brining me Tears in the Sahara courtesy of Peru.

Thoreau – It’s July 24th in more ways than one. Here we have a band that has a CD release that coincides with one of our show dates. The song kicks major ass, and is representative of the rest of the album. Go ahead and buy it, you might be one of the first for this high energy group. Steve, thank you for telling the Sheawns I was coming. Some might even say we rejumbed content around just to make some room for this group to appear in this episode.

Stand Back – Everybody’s doing it so why don’t you? That’s what I sometimes tell the bill of a venue when I show up. When Joel didn’t hesitate to give us permission to use a song I didn’t hesitate to slot it instantly in this episode. Two weeks later when I listened to the song, I realized that we both made the right decision.

Pound Salt – Welcome to the lair of the beast. When you try to book a show in a venue you’ve never been inside of before, I might be there lurking and waiting. When I see the manager swarmed with press kits and bios, I swoop into attack. Brett consider yourself tagged, and your demo became my meal for the day. Did you ever end up booking a gig?

Typhoid Mary – Being on a superduper fantastic mega popularity bookfriend system is a great way to meet new people for a band. Sometimes this happens by bot, and sometimes this happens by people wanting to chat with us. The fastest way to get our attention is still the Artist Submission Page. I’m still of the camp of listening to the demo from the page of every request. I get sad when I hear a great demo I can’t play. After about two weeks of hounding, David figured out that as much as we really wanted to Take Shelter, we still needed his permission via our website form.
